DRIVER ED CLASS
What happens after I complete the class?
After successfully completing 30 hours of classroom and the written knowledge test with at least an 80%, the student may schedule their behind-the-wheel lessons.
Will taking driver education classes make me an excellent driver?
Taking driver education classes does not guarantee an excellency in driving. Driver education is an introductory course for learning to drive. We at 605 Learn To Drive teach safety first. Most students finish the driver education course with a better understanding of what it takes to drive safely. After the required SD state law of 6 hours of driving in a driver education course we suggest taking additional driving lessons with an instructor to further expand on the student's ability to handle the car and driving routes more comfortably. SD requires individuals with a learner's permit to have an additional 50 hours of driving with a parent or guardian before proceeding to the next stage of the graduated driver license. At 605 Learn To Drive we feel an ADDITIONAL 6-20 hours of driving with a certified instructor improves the newly licensed driver in the long run. 6 hours for the majority of students is not enough time to gain enough experience in driving without the extra practice with an instructor and the safety equipment in the driver education vehicle.
